The T-20 world cup , which is otherwise called the 20-20 world cup has reached the second stage of the championships. The opening round which started of with 12 teams in the competition, has now come down to the super eights stage where the top 8 teams play to get a place in the semis. As expected most of the top teams made it to the super eights. But the biggest shock was the exit of the ODI champions Australia, which lost its both the matches to be knocked out of the competition. Other than that all the other teams have made it to the super eighths, but there is a surprise here with Ireland qualifying for the super eights.In the super eight stage the eight teams are divided into two groups. And the top two teams from each group will make it to the semis, that is after their playoff against each other. Actually the super eights have already began, where the much fancied teams India and Pakistan have lost in their opening group matches. But both the teams can still make it to the semis, if they win both their remaining matches. so, on the whole a cracking cricketing week is up a head.
